An award presentation and dinner honoring all nominees for the Mariner Awards and the Sturgeon Bay Area Coast Guard Person of the Year will be held Aug. 9.
Hosted by the Door County Maritime Museum, Sturgeon Bay Coast Guard Committee and Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club, the Mariner Awards – one for a living recipient and a second given posthumously – recognize individuals who have had a significant, positive and lasting impact on the Door County maritime community.
A Coast Guard Person of the Year – a local, active-duty Coast Guard member who exemplifies the USCG’s core values – is also honored.
The ceremony will be held at the Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club, 600 Nautical Dr., with a social hour at 5:30 pm and the awards presentation and dinner at 6:30 pm. Reservations are required by Aug. 5.
A portion of the ticket price ($50 per person) pays for a USCG Person of the Year nominee or Coast Guard member to attend. Purchase tickets at app.donorview.com/ookPr.
