Collin & Jennifer Dahl Open Firefly Outfitters in Sister Bay

Firefly Outfitters has opened at the Professional Center at Hwy. 42 and Highland Road in Sister Bay. Collin Dahl has converted what was once a travel agency office, conveniently located next door to his law firm, into what industry reps are calling a “gem” of a wine shop.

Furnished with antiques and folk art, Door County potato crates and local garage sale finds, the shop is home to more than 300 wines from around the world, as well as some harder-to-find specialty spirits.

“Our goal is to be different from the other local sources,” said Dahl, “so we are carrying a lot of French, Italian and Spanish wines that are not abundantly available nearby. We’ve sought selections that are different, and interesting, but always delicious.”

Jennifer Dahl, Collin’s wife and business partner added, “We are continually amazed by the excellent, affordable wine and spirits out there, produced in a hands-on way, and often in a biodynamic setting, by people who care about the end result.”

While carrying a range of price points, most of the wine Firefly sells is less than $20 a bottle, and many are in the $10-15 range.

As a complement to the wine business, Firefly carries a selection of “supplies” such as freeze-dried meals and solar-rechargeable LED lights, which can be used for camping or wilderness trekking, or in case of emergency. For store hours, visit their Facebook page or ffldoorcounty.com.
