Colorful Quilts on Display

Jacksonport Craft Cottage Gifts currently features work by fiber artist Lynn Gilman. Her colorful handcrafted mini wall quilts are all hand pieced using the paper piecing. This method allows the artist to create soft sculpture pieces using very small decorative fabrics to create more fine detail.

Gilman enjoys creating pieces with Door County in mind – the seasons, sailboats, birds, cherries, water themes and celebration themes. She also enjoys the challenge of more detailed traditional quilt patterns. Her work is also embellished with buttons, jewelry, ribbon and accent stitching by hand.
