Coming Up at Write On: Writing diversity, author readings and a poetry conference

Writing Life Stories

Join other writers in this informal class focused on recording stories. We’ll experiment with fun writing prompts to help generate new material and inspire you to keep going. Presented by Robin Sauerwein. The tuition is $60, with a 10% discount for Write On members.

Fiction Writing Workshop: Writing Diversity

In this session, we’ll explore how to make diversity a part of our work without stereotyping or simplifying issues surrounding representation. Presented by author Carley Mercedes Gomez. The tuition is $60, with a 10% discount for Write On members.

Author Reading

Patricia Skalka will join us for a virtual reading from and conversation about her latest novel, Death Washes Ashore: the sixth installment in her Dave Cubiak Mystery Series. The reading is free, but registration is required.

Virtual Poetry Conference

Join us online for an amazing two-plus days of poetry readings, conversations and craft talks. The faculty includes Mauricio Kilwein Guevara, Donna Hilbert, Sean Hill, Su Hwang, Ed Bok Lee, Denise Low, January Gill O’Neil and Michael Torres, with keynote addresses by Naomi Shihab Nye and Kwame Dawes. Registration is required.

Poetry Reading: Sheltering with Poems

Join us for a reading from Sheltering with Poems: Community and Connection during COVID, edited by Bruce Dethlefsen, Kathleen Serley and Angela Voras-Hills. The collection contains work by 74 Wisconsin poets, including several state and regional poets laureate.
