Writing from the Field

Poet Tracy Zeman leads a walk through the grounds of Write On, encouraging participants to find inspiration in natural and cultural history for their poetry or prose. The program is $30, with a 10% discount for Write On members. Scholarships are available.

Combat and Campus Publication Reading

Author Annette Langlois Grunseth reads from and discusses her new book, Combat and Campus: Writing through War. It uses letters that her brother wrote while in military service in Vietnam and her own writings while she was a student at UW-Madison. Free.

Youth Program: Get Your Story Started!

Writers in fifth through eighth grades can learn how to find ideas for stories, sort through them and find the hook to set their story in motion. Authors Valerie Biel and Angie Stanton will lead the program, which is $15, with a 10% discount for Write On members.
