Community Foundation Awards Grants to Kind Clipper Club, Door County Medical Center

The Door County Service Club Coalition, a fund of the Door County the Community Foundation, has awarded the Kind Clipper Club at TJ Walker Middle School a youth mini-grant. This grant provided the funds to purchase the materials needed for the sixth graders to create tie-blankets.

The students used the funds to purchase fleece, then created 44 blankets for local organizations such as Door County Medical Center, local nursing homes, Door CANcer and Adopt-a-Soldier.

The Community Foundation has awarded the Door County Medical Center a Sustainability Grant from the Ruth & Hartley Barker Memorial Fund, the John and Nell Herlache Community Impact Fund, and the Elizabeth “Betty” Lawrence Human Services Fund. This grant supports the Door County Medical Center Dental Clinic. The dental clinic provides oral health care to the youth and adults of Door and Kewaunee Counties. The clinic serves those who are on Medicaid and/or those with no dental insurance that are low-income with no dental home.
