Community Foundation Launches Summer Exhibition

The Door County Community Foundation is hosting an artist reception with refreshments by Thyme Catering on July 16, 4:30-6 pm, to celebrate the Lobby Gallery’s summer exhibition.

Anne Egan, one of the three featured artists, studied art at St. Norbert College but did not begin painting until moving to Door County in 1988 and taking classes at the Peninsula School of Art. She has returned to painting following a five-year hiatus and hopes to never stop.

“Looking Ahead” by Deborah Rosenthal.

After retiring in 2018 from a long career as a museum curator, Deborah Rosenthal has focused more on her studio training in painting, drawing and printmaking.

Nancy Sargent graduated from Gibraltar High School at a time when no art program was offered. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in education with a concentration in art, she returned to teach elementary art in the Gibraltar schools and exhibited her first collection as an emerging artist in 2001.
