The Door County Land Trust will hold its annual gathering gala on Aug. 25. The event will be held under large tents on the Ed and Sandy Miller property on East Meadow Road, north of Baileys Harbor. The Millers permanently protected their 110-acre property by entering into a conservation easement agreement with the Door County Land Trust in 2000.

“Our annual gathering is a popular event,” states Dan Burke, executive director of the Door County Land Trust. “It’s a chance for our supporters to gather together to celebrate the successes of the past year and to hear about projects in the works. Last year more than 500 people attended; we all look forward to it.”

Festivities begin at 3:30 pm with self-guided hikes of the property, beverages, hors d’oeuvres from Alexander’s of Fish Creek, and music by Highland Road.

Guests will be able to participate in the art walk bucket raffle, and the “Raise a Hand for Land” online auction. Bids may be placed online anytime before the event at doorcountylandtrust.org.

Burke will deliver a “State of the Land Trust” address and the evening will conclude with an auction of items such as a getaway weekend for two in Cedarburg, the chance to be a “fish boiler for a day” at the White Gull Inn, a house concert by Katie Dahl and a bat evening at the Three Springs Nature Preserve with citizen bat monitor Marilyn Hansotia.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $12 for children ages 5 – 12, and children younger than 5 are free. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. For more information, visit doorcountylandtrust.org or call 920.746.1359.
