• The Town of Gibraltar scheduled a special meeting for July 27 to approve the purchase of a 20-acre land parcel near the Ephraim/ Gibraltar Airport. Town Clerk Beth Hagen said public meetings regarding the purchase have already been held, but a special meeting is needed to gain final approval. The parcel sits at the southwest end of the airport at the end of the grass runway. Hagen said the town decided to purchase the land for safety reasons.

“It’s a safety issue, that way they can have more of a safe area without a home or something else causing an obstruction,” she said.
