(Left to right) Door County Habitat for Humanity ‘Women Build’ volunteers, Lori Vorpahl, Nancy Prange, Suzi Hass, and Ron Trimberger, owner of Door County Interiors & Design, work on the pumpkin patch at Door County Interiors & Design in Egg Harbor.

• “Pumpkins with a Purpose” are for sale at the Door County Habitat for Humanity, located at 410 N. 14th Avenue in Sturgeon Bay.

The pumpkins were planted, nurtured, and harvested by Habitat’s Women Build volunteers on three acres adjacent to Door County Interiors & Design in Egg Harbor. Proceeds from sales will go toward the Women Build’s rehabilitation project of a house on North 4th Avenue and Georgia Street in Sturgeon Bay.

Ron and Carol Trimberger, owners of Door County Interiors and long-time Habitat supporters, donated the pumpkin seeds and use of their land for the second annual pumpkin sales fund-raiser by Women Build.

Pumpkin prices range in price from 50 cents for minis to $3 for medium size. More than $400 has already been raised from sales to Egg Harbor businesses, according to Katy Moore, volunteer coordinator, Door County Habitat for Humanity.

“The Women Build volunteers rose to the occasion once again by planting, tilling, weeding, harvesting, and delivering the pumpkins,” said Moore.

“This is one of our most successful fund-raising efforts. We sold a ton of pumpkins and we have a lot of minis this year,” added Nancy Prange, a Women Build volunteer.

Door County Interiors & Design is located at 7266 Highway 42, about two miles south of downtown Egg Harbor. For more information call 920.868.9008 or visit doorcountyinteriors.com.
