  • Nathan Fearing Organizes Campus-wide Volunteer Event

    Nathan Fearing, son of Michael Fearing, Sister Bay, and Andrea Fearing, Egg Harbor, helped raise awareness of homelessness and hunger by organizing a campus-wide volunteer event at Lawrence University.

  • United Way Now Accepting Applications

    United Way of Door County is now accepting applications to grant funds to organizations that meet specific human service needs. Executive Director Amy Kohnle explains, “After extensive research, four critical areas of focus were identified by residents of Door County: Basic Needs, Community, Health Care and AODA (Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse).

  • Healthy Aging Fair at Stone Harbor Resort

    On April 4, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm, trends in older adult services will be discussed in “How We Age in Door County” at the Stone Harbor Resort in Sturgeon Bay.

  • Bittersweet Open House for WEP, Inc.

    WEP, Inc. will celebrate 35 years of service to the Door and Kewaunee communities at their Open House on March 21, 3 – 5 pm. This celebration is bittersweet as their current CEO Mavis Arnold is retiring at the end of March.

  • Conservation Reserve Program Signup Begins May 20

    Brad Pfaff, Executive Director of USDA’s Wisconsin Farm Service Agency, announced the general signup for the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) begins May 20 and continues through June 14.

  • Door County Coastal Byway Kiosks Unveiled

    The Door County Coastal Byway experience hubs are on track for completion and installation this spring. There will be 12 kiosks throughout the County and the Jacksonport sample panels were recently unveiled.

  • Sevastopol Music Department Hosts Benefit Concert

    The Sevastopol Music Department will present a Benefit Concert on Mar. 19 at 6:30 pm in the elementary gym. Fourth through sixth grade choirs, middle school and high school bands and various vocal and instrumental ensembles are featured.

  • Deadline Extension for Missouri Bus Trip

    Baylake Bank Premier Club with Babler Bus Service, Inc. extended the reservation deadline for an April 22 – 27 trip to Branson and St. Louis, Mo. This trip includes taking in popular shows like, The Showboat Branson Belle Dinner and Entertainment Cruise and The Buck Trent Show, along with sightseeing at notable locations like the St. Louis Arch.

  • “What’s in a Label” Covered at CHIP

    Northern Door Health & Wellness Ministry continues its Community Health Information Programs (CHIP) with “What’s in a Label,” covering the importance of reading labels.

  • Christ Child Society Receives Women’s Fund Grant

    Christ Child Society accepted a grant from the Women’s Fund of the Door County Community Foundation for their Layette Program. This program distributes layettes to mothers of newborn babies in Door County who are in need of assistance.

  • Scandia Village Hosts Living Well Workshop

    Good Samaritan Society-Scandia Village, along with Ministry Door County Medical Center-Rehab Services and Door County Human Services, will offer a Living Well Workshop series May 9 – June 13 at Scandia Village in Sister Bay.

  • Upcoming Unity Volunteer Orientations

    Unity, leaders in hospice and palliative care, announces March and April volunteer orientation sessions. Unity’s Volunteer Services Department works closely with individuals to find meaningful ways for them to participate in its palliative, hospice and bereavement programs.

  • Healthcare Discussed at Door County Democratic Meeting

    Bob Scieszinski, CFO of Ministry Door County Medical Center, discussed the effect of Governor Walker’s decision to not accept federally funded Medicaid expansion at the monthly Door County Democratic Meeting.

  • Pen Players Receive Sustainability Grant

    The Peninsula Players recently received a $2,000 Sustainability Grant from the Door County Community Foundation to support “The Play’s The Thing” program.
