Composer Fellow Premieres Concerto Aug. 26

COMPOSER FELLOW PREMIERES CONCERTO AUG. 26

Midsummer’s Music is excited to present the world premiere of the Door County Concerto by 2021 Composer Fellow Quinn Mason on Aug. 26. Mason’s piece, commissioned by Midsummer’s Music, paints a musical portrait of Door County, putting in perspective different activities someone on the peninsula may encounter in three movements.

Mason’s premiere happens during Midsummer’s Sultry Summer concert series that starts on Aug. 20. The series is launched with The Beethoven Sphere program.

Performances will be held Aug. 20 and 26, 7 pm, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Sister Bay; Aug. 22 and 29, 4-6 pm, at Woodwalk Gallery; Aug. 27 at the Kress Pavilion; and Aug. 28, 7-9 pm, at Hope United Church of Christ.

A Coffee Talk with Mason will be held on Aug. 28, 10 am, at the Kress Pavilion. The program is an information presentation on music topics with Midsummer’s musicians and friends.

Reservations for concerts and coffee talks are recommended. Tickets for all concerts are $30 for adults and can be ordered at midsummersmusic.com or by calling 920.854.7088.
