Concert Pianist Katie Reimer Performs at UUF

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship presents concert pianist Katie Reimer on Feb. 23 at 3 pm.

Based in New York City with Door County ties, Reimer is touring with music by J.S. Bach, Johannes Brahms, and living composers Daniel Bernard Roumain and Mohammed Fairouz. The program will open with two Preludes and Fugues from Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1, and followed by Brahms’ poetic suite, Klavierstücke, Op. 118.

The second half of the program is dedicated to works by two living composers, beginning with Roumain’s Jam!, a short and rhythmic piece for solo piano. Fairouz’s Piano Sonata No. 2, “The Last Resistance,” will close the program.

Reimer, acclaimed by the New York Times, is currently the pianist, artistic and executive director of the Mimesis Ensemble, a New York City based group.

Admission is $10. The concert will be followed by a complimentary reception and the opportunity to meet Reimer.
