Conductor Stephen Alltop to Lecture at Church of Atonement

Dr. Stephen Alltop of Northwestern University, who has conducted often at the Peninsula Music Festival, will lecture at 7 pm on July 7 at Church of the Atonement in Fish Creek. His topic is “Leadership and the Orchestral Conductor: From Beethoven to Boardroom.”

Dr. Alltop is director of music for Alice Millar Chapel at Northwestern University, conducts the Baroque Music Ensemble, and teaches conducting, harpsichord and oratorio. A harpsichordist and organist, he also is music director for the Apollo Chorus of Chicago, the Green Lake Choral Institute, and the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra. He has conducted more than 100 oratorio and operatic masterworks.

He lectures for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Northwestern University Alumnae Continuing Education Series, and the Advanced Management program of Kellogg School of Management.
