Confessional Songwriting

On June 29, alt-rock icon Melissa Etheridge will bring her soulful lyrics and smoky, Joplin-esque vocals to the stage at Door Community Auditorium (DCA) as part of her popular This Is M.E. solo tour.

Since 1988, Melissa Etheridge has been bringing the deep emotion of confessional songwriting to bear on the heart and soul of rock and roll. In her almost 30-year career, Etheridge has released 10 studio albums, campaigned tirelessly for numerous social causes, sold out countless tour dates, and won two Grammy Awards and an Oscar. At DCA, she will perform solo, playing hits like “Come to My Window” and “I’m the Only One” along with songs from her latest album, This Is M.E. — all delivered with the unflagging verve that endeared her to audiences in the first place.

On Etheridge’s solo tour, she will play acoustic guitar, electric guitar, harmonica, and piano. She says, “I enjoy doing the solo shows…I love to dive into my catalogue of songs and bring a new freshness to my older material. It is such an intimate experience with the audience, and it is truly one of my favorite ways to perform.”

The performance begins at 8 pm. Tickets range from $72 to $98. Advance reservations are recommended and can be made through the DCA box office, located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday through Friday, 12 – 5 pm. Tickets can be purchased in person, on the phone at 920.868.2728, or online at dcauditorium.org.
