Congratulations to 2016 Golden Heart Recipients and Honorees

The Volunteer Center of Door County celebrated the 14th Annual Golden Heart Volunteer Celebration “Follow Your Heart” on Thursday, April 21, 2016. Guests celebrated at the Stone Harbor Ballroom honoring the incredible work of Door County volunteers and the agencies they serve.

Barth Guilette, founder of GBL Advisors—a living and leaving legacy guide and the co-owner of CedarDoor Wealth Management in Sturgeon Bay, was the keynote speaker. Guilette spoke about leaving your legacy by getting involved in our wonderful community. Marti Spittell Ziegelbauer served as the Master of Ceremonies. Each nominee received a complimentary dinner and a crystal sun catcher created by Grace Rossman and Tara Niko Rossman.

Award recipients received $500 to donate to a Door County charity of their choice in addition to a custom designed art piece by Chad Luberger of Plum Bottom Pottery and Gallery. Three youth scholarship recipients received a $500 academic scholarship.
