Many times workers in the public sector
Simply don’t get their due.
Betty’s in that category,
Along with a dedicated crew.

She helps a diverse group of patrons,
Sometimes an unappreciated deed.
To her it’s the perfect job,
For you see, she really loves to read.

She assists each and every individual,
While monitoring computer time and shelving books.
But her utmost reward is watching
Folks leave with that satisfied look.

Another gem within our county,
Yeah, I know she has many peers.
But I’m still doggone impressed,
She’s been on the job for 40 plus years!
