Conscious Cuisine Month and Gourmet Vegetarian Dinner & Cooking Class at Kristofer’s

Chef Terri Milligan has announced a special cooking class and wine dinner event slated for Friday, April 11 to coincide with the addition of several new vegetarian items at her restaurant, The Inn at Kristofer’s.

The Conscious Cuisine Gourmet Vegetarian Dinner and Cooking Class will focus on the preparation and presentation of gourmet vegetarian faire. The gourmet dinner will be coupled with two California organic wines. Chef Milligan will present a one-hour cooking class demonstrating the preparation of the items to be served at the dinner, with the five-course meal following in the restaurant’s elegant dining room.

“April is Conscious Cuisine month at the Inn at Kristofer’s,“ explained Milligan. “In addition to our regular dinner menu, we will be featuring an expanded offering of vegetarian items. To coincide with the menu items, I am offering this special gourmet cooking class and dinner featuring a five-course vegetarian meal accompanied with two specially selected organic wines.”

The dinner will begin with an “Amuse Bouche” (small appetizer sampling) of homemade vegetarian nori rolls with two dipping sauces. The first course of roma tomato tatin (a take on the traditional apple tatin but made in a savory version with tomatoes, montrachet cheese and basil pesto), will be followed by Chef Milligan’s stunning bouquet salad (a blanched tomato stuffed with fresh greens and herbs and finished with a homemade herb vinaigrette). A sorbet cleanser will prepare diners for the main course of a vegetable Pave with roasted red bell pepper and fresh herb sauce with phyllo herb triangles. Dessert is a standout of pineapple carpaccio with homemade coconut sorbet and almond brittle.

The price of $67 per person includes the cooking demonstration class, five-course dinner with wine, tax and gratuity. The special dinner and class is limited to 24 people.
