Open your ears to the colorful sounds “like a Texas Tornado that went through New Orleans and landed in Wisconsin,” as proclaimed by Copper Box.
Their musical melting pot of Americana, roots, rock, polka, country, jazz, blues, and Zydeco is evident through button accordionist and multi-instrumentalist, Danny Jerabek, as well as Michelle Jerabek on baritone and tenor saxophones, vocals, guitar, flute, and washboard; all backed by an immense rhythm section consisting of Jason Van Ryzin on drums and Kevin Junemann playing bass and ukulele.
In addition to Copper Box receiving several Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) awards – including “Americana Artist of the Year” and “People’s Choice Award” – Michelle Jerabek was the first female to receive “Side Person of the Year” from the Wisconsin Polka Hall of Fame (WPHF) and Danny Jerabek was featured on the national television program The Early Show.
Come at 6 pm to shop at the Farmer’s Market. Then setup your blanket or lawn-chair, sit back and relax to the unique resonance of Copper Box at Algoma’s Wednesday Night Concert Series.
