Corey Reyment to be Keynote at 2019 Golden Heart Awards

Corey Reyment, co-founder of LIV1440, will be the keynote speaker for the 2019 Golden Heart Awards Celebration on April 11.

“This year’s theme of “Volunteers – Our Brightest Stars” truly epitomizes the incredible work of volunteers and the many nonprofit organizations that make such a positive impact in our communities,” said Kay Smith, executive director of the Volunteer Center of Door County, which hosts the awards. “Corey and his wife, Carrie, who was born and raised in Egg Harbor, are true examples of this.”

A few months before their wedding, Carrie was diagnosed with cancer. She was only 25 years old at the time, and the experience made Corey realize that our time on earth is finite. The couple committed to do more with the time they were granted, so in 2016, they founded a nonprofit called LIV1440, which encourages people to do more to help others during the 1,440 minutes they are granted each day.

The Golden Heart Awards Celebration will be held on April 11, 5 pm, at Stone Harbor Resort in Sturgeon Bay. It’s open to the public. Contact the Volunteer Center of Door County to make a reservation.
