Corky Siegel, Dorothy Scott and Sue Demel Combine for MDCMC Concert

Dorothy Scott

On July 30 at 7 pm, Ministry Door County Medical Center’s Music in the Gardens Concert Series will present a night of blues, folk, jazz and alternative music with Corky Siegel, Dorothy Scott and Sue Demel.

Siegel has earned an international reputation as one of the world’s great blues harmonica masters. He is a composer, blues pianist, singer/songwriter, and recent winner of the Lila Wallace/Reader’s Digest/Meet the Composer’s national award for chamber music composition and the Illinois Arts Council Fellowship Award for Music Composition.

Sue Demel

Scott has flowed effortlessly between genres achieving popularity in pop, folk, blues and alternative. The common bridge is an exquisite vocal style, amazing guitar playing and a gift for discovering the heart of a song.

Whether it’s scatting, chanting, collaborating, or writing, Demel explodes the pre-conceived notions of singing. As a founding and current member of folk trio Sons of the Never Wrong, Demel tours nationally, performing original, acoustic music.

The Music in the Gardens series takes place at 7 pm on Tuesdays in July on the hospital green space next to The Community’s Garden on 16th Avenue in Sturgeon Bay. Audience members should bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. Free food samples from Raw Vitality Foods will be offered during each concert. Concerts are free and open to the public.
