Corner of the Past Opens for 14th Season

The Corner of the Past museum, operated by the Sister Bay Historical Society, will open for its 14th season on Saturday and Sunday, June 12 and 13. Docents will be available from 11 am – 3 pm every weekend through the end of June, when Friday hours will be added to the schedule.

A new self-guided tour directory, providing a brief history of the museum grounds, will also be available for visitors to pick up. The grounds are open during daylight hours throughout the summer.

The Corner of the Past features the Old Anderson House, a family farmhouse built in 1875 and renovated by society members as the organization’s first project.

Additional structures representative of Sister Bay’s early farm life have been acquired, including the Koessl Barn, a granary, summer kitchen, chicken coop, machine shed and several log cabins. All hold collections of implements, furnishings and photos donated by local families.

Saturday, June 26 will mark the opening of the popular Farmer’s Market and Heritage Craft demonstrations on the museum grounds.

The Corner of the Past is located at the intersection of Highway 57, Country Lane and Fieldcrest Road, 1 mile south of the Highway 42-57 intersection in Sister Bay.

Admission to the grounds is free, with a $1 fee to view the interior of the Old Anderson House. Contributions are welcomed.
