Cottage Row Features Bridget Austin and Jack Anderson

Watercolorists Bridget Austin and Jack Anderson are the featured artists at Cottage Row Gallery June 24 through July 8. The show opens June 24 with a “Meet the Artists” reception from 10 am to 1 pm. Light refreshments will be served.

The show will feature a wonderful selection of new original watercolors by each artist. There will also be an assortment of limited edition prints and notecards available.

Austin has been painting her impressions of nature in watercolor for more than 35 years. Her fresh style, use of white paper, negative painting and lively color have made her paintings a popular addition to many public and private collections. Favorite subjects include Door County landscapes, nature studies, and scenes from her travels both here and abroad. She is a Signature Member of the Wisconsin Watercolor Society and holds Master Status in the Transparent Watercolor Society of America.

Anderson has both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in art education from Northern Illinois University and taught for 18 years in the Crystal Lake, Ill. area. He became a full-time painter in 1977 when he moved to Door County and opened The Jack Anderson Gallery in Sister Bay, where he successfully exhibited and sold his work as well as that of many other artists for more than 30 years. His watercolors have always focused on the unique look and beauty of Door County.
