At its Feb. 24 meeting, the Door County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution in appreciation of the Friends of the Door County Park System. The resolution detailed the many things the Friends group does for the county parks, including raising funds for everything from equipment for the cave tours at Horseshoe Bay Cave to additional parkland acquisitions at George K. Pinney and Frank E. Murphy Parks. The Friends also assist at and recruit other volunteers for events within the county park system such as the Door County Triathlon and the Fall 50. Paul Graf, president of the Friends of Door County Parks, accepted the commendation on behalf of the group. Paul and his wife, Jane, who also serves on the board of the Friends group, are featured in Door County Living’s 2017 Philanthropy issue, which is on stands this week.
