The third annual Philanthropy Issue of Door County Living is devoted to the spirit of giving, a thread that runs strong through the fabric of the Door County community. It is in this spirit that Bonnie Paruch, the artist behind our cover image, has generously offered this work for auction to benefit a local cause.
Door County Living will auction the Paruch original painting, “The Feathered Nest,” (oil on canvas, framed 22” wide x 22” tall) by mail bid through August 15, 2011. The painting, completed in early 2011, was inspired by the idea that with time, support and a little nuturing it is possible to build up a nest egg.
All proceeds from the winning bid will go to the Door County charity of the bidder’s choice.
The minimum bid for “The Feathered Nest” is $1,500, and the winner will be notified by telephone and announced in local publications.
Paruch is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America. Her award winning oil and pastel paintings have been exhibited in many national and regional exhibitions. Bonnie has received several top awards in national plein air painting competitions including: Best in Show, Cedarburg Plein Air (twice), and Best Color, Plein Air Tucson Invitational.
Paruch’s studio is open June – October, Wednesday and Saturday from 1:00 – 4:00pm and by appointment. Her studio is located at 11249 County Road ZZ, Sister Bay.
