“Cowspiracy” Screened at GNG Café

The season of Dinner and a Movie Nights at the Greens N Grains (GNG) Café begins Dec. 10 with a screening of Cowspiracy.

Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret is a groundbreaking feature-length environmental documentary following an intrepid filmmaker as he uncovers the most destructive industry facing the planet today, and investigates why the world’s leading environmental organizations are too afraid to talk about it. As eye-opening as Blackfish and as inspiring as An Inconvenient Truth, this shocking yet humorous documentary reveals the absolutely devastating environmental impact large-scale factory farming has on the planet.

Filmmaker Kip Andersen’s environmental awakening came as a result of An Inconvenient Truth. After seeing the film, he began to recycle religiously, turn off lights constantly, shower infrequently, and ride a bike instead of driving. Andersen believed he was doing everything he could to help us survive on this planet by following the guidelines of national and international environmental organizations. But, his life took a different direction when he found out animal agriculture is the leading cause of environmental destruction.

Andersen is the founder of Animals United Movement (AUM), a 501(c)3 and parent to AUM Films, a fledgling nonprofit founded to develop films and other media projects promoting sustainability, compassion, and peace for all of Earth’s inhabitants. Cowspiracy is its first production.

Greens N Grains Cafe offers a natural and organic dinner special each evening before the screening. Enjoy soup, salad, roll and a cup of tea for $7.50, available from 6 pm on. The screening begins at 7 pm and there is no charge to attend, but seating at screenings is limited to 28 people. Reservations are requested. RSVP by calling 920.868.9999 or emailing [email protected].
