Cozy and Comfortable Finds from Local Artists at Sourced

Sturgeon Bay’s Sourced has a cornucopia of cozy and comforting fiber art and goods from local artists and artisans.

Helen Bacon of Helen’s Botanicals has many new accessories – each is a unique and vibrant piece of wearable art. Her hats and scarves come in a wide variety of styles and materials: hand-crocheted, hand-felted bucket hats with a retro look, jewel-toned neck warmers made from hand-painted wool roving, and acrylic toppers with intricate patterns. Bacon also has pieces made from crocheted silk ribbons and headbands with upcycled vintage crocheted “granny squares.” Look for her new bath poufs.

Kayla Wilke of Apple Blossom Goods was inspired by her children to create products for the home and body from natural materials. Her new holiday offerings include beeswax candles, a safe natural alternative to purify the air with a rich honey aroma, and clean burning soy candles, in luxurious seasonal scents like frankincense and orange. Wilke also offers moisturizing lotion bars made from organic virgin coconut oil, raw cocoa butter and peppermint essential oil, and organic vanilla bean peppermint sugar scrub, both naturally delicious smelling.

Sourced encourages a fun feeling of community and collaboration between artists, and Bacon and Wilke are now offering the product of one such joint venture – felted dryer balls to use in your dryer instead of chemical-filled fabric softener sheets. They are handmade from pure wool and reduce drying time as well as static cling.

Sourced seeks to be your best source for local art, accessories and home décor, with unique pieces both “made” and “found.” Sourced is located at 24 N. Third Ave. in downtown Sturgeon Bay. For more information, visit Sourced on Facebook, or katiestarr.com.
