The Charles Allis Art Museum in Milwaukee is currently hosting the exhibition “Forward: A Survey of Wisconsin Art Now,” a juried show of original works in a variety of media by Wisconsin artists.

Sister Bay artist Craig Blietz was awarded the “Director’s Choice Award” for his oil painting titled “Pastoral Dreaming.” Bleitz stated that the painting is a commentary on “Projection and how we imagine ourselves in everyday circumstances.”

Juror’s for the exhibition were Martha Glowacki, Co-Director of the Wisconsin Academy’s James Watrous Gallery in Madison, and Graeme Reid, Assistant Director of The Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend. The jurors made their selections from more than 250 entries. Their final choices represent a wide range of contemporary styles and practices from artists throughout the state of Wisconsin.

The Exhibition runs through May 19, 2010 and is open to the public from 1 – 5 pm Wednesday through Sunday with a $5 museum admission.
