Creating Better Communities

Is parking really a problem in Door County? Are trees infrastructure? Can we build better streets?

Myles Dannhausen Jr. of the Peninsula Pulse will discuss this and other ways we can do better to create communities that we love, that support residents of all income levels and that our local governments can afford to maintain at The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County in Ephraim on Sunday, June 11 at 10 am.

“Door County communities are grappling with a boom in tourism, relatively rapid population growth and housing shortages for workers of all income levels,” Dannhausen said. “Unfortunately, many are trying to solve these problems with outdated development strategies and without learning from their neighboring communities.”

Since 2004, Dannhausen has been covering local development as a writer, editor and co-owner of the Peninsula Pulse. He has lived in every Northern Door municipality during his adult life and now lives in Liberty Grove with his wife and two young sons.
