Creating Connections at Wearable Art Show

The Door County Wearable Art Show (doorcountywearableartshow.com) – celebrating nine years in 2019 –  will be held Aug. 24, 9 am – 5 pm; and Aug. 25, 10 am – 4 pm, at the Sister Bay Village Hall. Admission is free. For the 11 artists involved, it is an annual celebration of change, connection with each other and the community and, of course, wearable art.

The August show will highlight some creators who work with the process of linking: chain-mail artist Deb Rades, whose line of belts, clips and purses are contemporary pieces with vintage inspiration; hinged-jewelry maker Amy Taylor, whose hinged creations provide a magical world of surprises; and wool artist Lana Vosk, whose chunky knits unite texture with color – just as the days get shorter.
