Creative Camps for Young Writers

Write On, Door County will offer two sessions of its KIDS WOW! creative camp July 10-14. 

A session for students entering grades 3-5 will be offered in the morning, led by picture-book author Sarah Hammond. Participants will learn how to create gripping plots and discover memorable characters while playing games, reading excerpts and experimenting with a variety of storytelling activities. 

Hammond’s husband, novelist Shawn Shifflett, will lead an afternoon session for students entering grades 6-8 and will use letter stories, folktales, story-within-a-story and more to explore creativity.

The tuition cost of $165 includes snacks and drinks. Classes are limited to 12 participants and typically fill fast. Learn more and register at writeondoorcounty.org.
