Crossroads at Big Creek Offers Archaeology by Appointment

As part of Crossroads at Big Creek’s Big Dig, take part in Archaeology by Appointment, Sept. 29-Oct. 6, when two or three people may participate in an authentic archaeological dig under the guidance of a professional archaeologist – outdoors and masked, during a responsibly distanced, 45-minute session. At this time, participants should be in sixth grade or older. Email coggin@crossroadsatbigcreek to set up an appointment, using “Big Dig” as the subject line.

The Door Peninsula Astronomical Society (DPAS) will hold its regular monthly meeting via Zoom on Oct. 6, 7 pm, when society president Dave Lenius will be the speaker. The meeting is open to the public. The Zoom invitation and meeting ID will be posted on the DPAS Facebook page.

The buildings at Crossroads at Big Creek are closed, but the restrooms, trails and kayak launch are open all day, every day. Please use the preserves – as always, free of charge – for recreation, learning and the physical and mental health benefits of outdoor exercise.
