Crossroads Calls for Help

On May Day, Crossroads at Big Creek is sending out a “may day” call for help. While there is no serious distress around the preserve, there are a number of tasks to accomplish.

The members of Friends of Crossroads are planting evergreen trees around the perimeter of the Crossroads preserve, and the members of the Door Peninsula Astronomical Society (DPAS) will be sprucing up the Astronomy Campus of Crossroads in preparation for Astronomy Day, which will be held this year on May 15. Both groups will meet at 9 am on Saturday, May 1 at the Stonecipher Astronomy Center and both groups would welcome help. Refreshments will be available.

On May 3, the Friends of Crossroads will hold their monthly meeting at 6:30 pm to plan activities for May. Visitors are always welcome.

Then, the May 4 meeting of the DPAS will address “Volcanoes in the Solar System.” This program will be presented by DPAS President-elect Dave Udell in the Stonecipher Astronomy Center (use Utah Street Entrance) at 7 pm. Refreshments will be served.

Crossroads at Big Creek, Inc. is a donor-supported educational preserve. The Collins Learning Center, located at 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay, is open 2 – 5 pm daily.
