Crossroads Goes “In Search of Green”

Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with two nature hikes appropriately titled, “In Search of Green.” On March 16 at 1:30 and 3:30 pm, join the naturalist for a one-hour hike through the preserve. With any luck, hikers will find some signs of spring.

Hikers should meet at the Collins Learning Center; hikes are free and open to the public.

Community Ski will continue on March 17 (snow conditions permitting). The recreational equipment may be borrowed between 1:30 – 3:30 pm and may not leave the Crossroads property. Skis and boots are located at the Collins Learning Center.

For everyone who, even after St. Patrick’s Day, longs to see green, the Door County Master Gardeners will offer a public program called “How to Start A Veggie Garden” on March 19 at 7 pm. Master Gardener Tom Luebker will present a lecture designed to help anyone interested in growing healthy, home-grown vegetables. This program is free and open to the public.

Crossroads is located at 2041 Michigan Street in Sturgeon Bay. The Collins Learning Center is open daily 2 – 4:30 pm. Trails are free and open to the public.
