Crossroads Hosts Antique Appraisal Event

The Door County Historical Society is hosting an Antique Appraisal Event at the Crossroads at Big Creek on Nov. 19 from 1 – 4 pm as a fundraiser for the Maintenance Fund of the Historical Village.

The event will feature author and antiques expert Mark F. Moran of Iola, Wis. Moran has been a contributing editor for Antique Trader magazine and Antique Review East magazine. He has also been a guest expert on the PBS series Antiques Roadshow. He is the author or co-author of more than 25 books on antiques and collectibles, including the 800-page annual Warman’s Antiques & Collectibles, now in its 45th edition.

The cost of an appraisal is $15 (one item/person) with pre-registration required. Participants will be assigned to a specific hour but will be welcome to watch and learn for the full three-hour event. To simply view appraisals cost $3. Applications are available at Crossroads.

Also, on Nov. 13 at 1 pm the Crossroads will host a “Nature Hike.” Attendees are welcome to join the naturalist for a late autumn visit to the various habitats of the preserve.
