Crossroads Hosts Christmas Programs and Sunset Hike

Images of wild birds decorate a surprising number of holiday greeting cards. Another Crossroads tradition, a Christmas Eve lecture at 2 pm will describe the birds and reveal this year’s Crossroads Christmas Bird of the Year. (Cardinals won the last year’s by appearing on the greatest number of holiday greeting received by the naturalist.) The program is free and open to the public.

Dec. 27 at 2 pm, families will experience some of the simple pleasures of a pioneer Christmas. The program will take place at the Greene General Store in the Historical Village and will feature hands-on activities, carols, and treats.

Dec. 31 at 3:30 pm, the Crossroads will host a “Sunset on the Year Hike.” Hikers are invited to watch the sun set on 2011. (The hike will take place unless it is raining.) Participants will be back before dark.

Crossroads is located at 2041 Michigan Street, Sturgeon Bay. For more information call 920.746.5895 or visit http://www.crossroadsatbigcreek.org.
