Crossroads Hosts Concert and Craft/Produce Market

Global Accord will play an eclectic selection of folk and world music at Crossroads on Sept. 16.

Crossroads at Big Creek is hosting a variety of events in early September.

On Sept. 15 at 8 pm, the Door Peninsula Astronomical Society welcomes visitors to Crossroads for “September Viewing Night.” Each month, DPAS selects the Saturday evenings closest to the new moon to observe celestial objects. Patient and helpful amateur astronomers will set up telescopes in the StarGarden and will introduce beginners to the night sky.

To find the StarGarden, use the Utah Street entrance. This event is free and open to the public.

On Sept. 16, 1:30 – 3:30 pm, the Door County Historical Society will bring a “Craft and Produce Market” to Crossroads. More than 20 booths from local vendors will be set up in The Historical Village.

Shoppers can also enjoy a concert by Global Accord at 2 pm. This ensemble of local folk musicians presents an eclectic selection of folk and world music. This concert is made possible by a grant from the MMG Foundation.

Weather permitting, the concert will be held in the rock garden, but will be moved to the Collins Learning Center if too cold, windy or rainy.

Shoppers/concertgoers are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets or cushions.

Crossroads is a learning preserve, welcoming learners of all ages to programs in science, history and the environment. The Collins Learning Center, located at 2041 Michigan Street in Sturgeon Bay, is open daily 2 – 4:30 pm.
