Crossroads Hosts Fall Hike, ‘Hometown Stories’ Screening

It’s fall at Crossroads at Big Creek. Leaves are finally changing color and the geese are flying south. Enjoy the fall splendor Oct. 28, 11 am – 12 pm during a nature hike to the dock at The Cove. Join the naturalist for a gentle ramble from the Little Bridge on Utah Street to the dock and observation area at The Cove. Hikers should meet at the grass parking lot at the intersection of Utah Street and 20th Place. The hike will last about an hour, and is free and open to the public.

On Oct. 27 at 2 pm, Crossroads will host a screening of Hometown Stories Door County – Baileys Harbor Extras. Wisconsin Public Television filmed these segments on the history of Bailey Harbor, which were not included in the televised program. Visitors and Door County residents will enjoy these vignettes. Following the Baileys Harbor Extras, the full program will be screened.

Crossroads at Big Creek is a donor-supported organization maintaining three preserves and offering programs for learners of all ages focused on science, history and the environment. The Collins Learning Center, located at 2041 Michigan Street in Sturgeon Bay, is open 2 – 4:30 pm daily and during scheduled events. Trails, restrooms and parking lot are open 24/7.
