Crossroads Hosts Final Family Programs of Summer Season

Insects may annoy some people, but many are beneficial and all are fascinating. Several of Crossroads at Big Creek family programs will focus on insects during the final week of summer programing. Summer programs designed for learners of all ages are offered Monday through Thursday at 1:30 pm. They are also free and open to the public.

On Aug. 26, learn about insect mouthparts with hands-on demonstrations and field observations.

On Aug. 27, participants can learn about exoplanets in an interactive program that will consider the possibility of life on other planets. This program is appropriate for children in third grade and up.

On Aug. 28, follow the flight of summer birds and butterflies to their winter homes.

These programs are free, open to the public and meet at the Collins Learning Center.

Summer hours for the Collins Learning Center, located at 2041 Michigan Street in Sturgeon Bay, are 1:30 – 3:30 pm daily and during scheduled activities. Beginning Labor Day, the fall hours, 2 – 4:30 pm, go into effect. The trails always are open. For more information visit crossroadsatbigcreek.com.
