Crossroads of Door County Offers Various Programs

Crossroads at Big Creek will continue offering programming and educational opportunities throughout May.

Friday, May 13 at 9 am, the public is welcome to join Crossroads volunteers in weeding and removing invasive species from the Crossroads preserve during the “Invasive Work Party.” Participants should meet at the Collins Learn Center and are encouraged to bring work gloves and wear old clothes.

Sunday, May 15 from 1 – 2 pm, a naturalist will lead participants on “Marsh-marigold Hike.” The hike will begin at the Collins Learning Center. Attendees are encouraged to wear clothes that can get damp.

Saturday, May 21 from 1 – 4 pm, the Crossroads will host an AMBLE Volunteer Training Session. The goal of AMBLE (Avian Monitoring for Botulism Lakeshore Events) is to empower a network of concerned citizens to monitor bird health and beach conditions along miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, thus increasing knowledge of avian botulism trends.
