Crossroads Offers Private Nature Programs

Crossroads at Big Creek, 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay, has received a $5,210 grant from the Wisconsin Humanities Council, with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities, to support the Big Dig: a project that would bring together 250 middle school students for hands-on archaeological experiences at The Cove Preserve. Plans for the Big Dig may need to change, however, depending on how schools are operating in the fall because of the pandemic.

Crossroads is offering 45-minute, private outdoor nature programs with a naturalist Tuesdays – Saturdays. Family units, individuals, or two or three friends of any age may make an appointment for a 9 am, 10 am or 11 am time slot. Guests should wear masks and practice social distancing.

To make an appointment, email [email protected] with “Nature by Appointment” in the subject line. List the names of participants, ages of children, days and times when you’re available, and the program topic of your choice: water creatures, fossils or summer flowers.
