Crossroads Screens “A Chemical Reaction”

Crossroads at Big Creek will host a screening of A Chemical Reaction on June 19 at 7 pm.

A Chemical Reaction is an award-winning documentary detailing the experience of a Canadian community in stopping the use of lawn chemicals. “The film asks the obvious question: ‘If Canadians have decided to ban these products, why does the U.S. still sell them?’” said Paul Tukey, American author and anti-pesticide activist who serves as narrator. “It’s not just a lawn care movie, though. The core story – how a few people in one town could ultimately change an entire nation’s stance – is a testament to the human spirit and what is possible in a democratic society with freedom of the press and an open court system.”

This program is presented to create awareness of the health hazards and environmental degradation associated with current lawn care practices. Following the screening, there will be a panel presentation and questions from the audience.

This program is free and open to the public and is presented by Door Property Owners in collaboration with Sustain Door and Wild Ones.

Crossroads is located at 2041 Michigan Street, Sturgeon Bay. For more information call 920.746.5895 or visit http://www.crossroadsatbigcreek.org.
