Crossroads Screens “Last Call at the Oasis”

A screening of Last Call at the Oasis, a 2011 documentary exploring the global water crisis, will be held at Crossroads at Big Creek on April 17 at 7 pm. Yu’s documentary provides a thorough examination of the epic crises threatening the world’s water supply.

Though the crisis is global, Last Call at the Oasis focuses on situations in the U.S., particularly a case study of Las Vegas. The city relies entirely on the massive Hoover Dam and enormous Lake Mead to provide water, but that lake is shrinking at an alarming rate, dropping 10 feet a year.

Water crusader Erin Brokovich and family farm protector Lynn Henning, along with a host of other concerned activists, convey the important water message in the documentary.

Crossroads at Big Creek is located at 2041 Michigan Street in Sturgeon Bay.
