Crossroads Used-Shoe Collection and Trail Run/Walk

Get ready for the Crossroads Trail Run and Walk June 22. Submitted.

Do you have running or other athletic shoes that don’t work for you anymore? Take your used running shoes to be collected June 21-22 on the shoe-hanging tree near the front of the Collins Learning Center at Crossroads at Big Creek, 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay. Working with Fleet Feet of Appleton, Friends of Crossroads at Big Creek will get them on the feet of someone in need.

To further promote green living, Friends of Crossroads will host the annual 2K, 5K and 10K Crossroads Trail Run and Walk on June 22, drawing outdoor-recreation enthusiasts from around the state and nation.

All participants and volunteers will receive a native plant, performance T-shirt, locally made refreshments and awards. An added bonus this year is a wooden medal commemorating the trail runs’ 10th year.
