Cutting Boards and More Expands in Sturgeon Bay

It was just two years ago when Richard Odea and Rose Miranda moved their business – Richard Rose Culinary, a manufacturer of handcrafted wooden kitchen products – to Door County to manufacture locally and take advantage of the peninsula’s strong retail ecosystem. Now the company has acquired additional manufacturing equipment to expand production here.

“We moved our business from Tucson to Door County and have been thrilled with the acceptance we have enjoyed on both the wholesale and retail level,” Odea said. “We have invested significantly in several new precision machines to help us keep innovating and meeting demand.”

In the spring, the retail portion of the business, Cutting Boards and More, relocated to an expanded site at 368 Jefferson St. in Sturgeon Bay, and the company offers its products online at cuttingboardsandmore.com. The Small Business Development Center at UW-Green Bay and the Door County Economic Development Corporation’s entrepreneurial development program assisted with business-plan development.
