Czech Boys Choir Returns to Peninsula

Boni Pueri, a Czech Boys Choir that awed peninsula audiences in 2004 and 2005, will be back performing in Sturgeon Bay on Monday, November 30 at the United Methodist Church at 7:30 pm. Boni Pueri is being brought to Sturgeon Bay for this Christmas program under the auspices of the Door Concerts, Inc. as part of their 2009 – 2010 concert series.

Boni Pueri, which in English means, “good boy” is one of Europe’s most famous musical ensembles. The choirs (there are several drawn from the 350 students at the Boni Pueri private school) have given more the 2,500 concerts since their founding in 1982, in North America, Asia and Europe.

Boni Pueri has produced 13 recordings, been featured on a number of television and radio broadcasts, and been invited to perform regularly with eminent artists, ensembles and orchestras from around the world.

The touring choir carries 28 singers, in voice ranges from soprano to bass, with ages of the singers ranging from about 10 to 20 years. The choir is divided into smaller groups, each of which has the younger boys under the supervision of an older young man. Adults with the group include Jakub Martinec the director, the accompanist and one other adult supervisor.

This is a wonderful family show not to be missed. Call 920.743.5626 for information on how to attend.
