According to the National Center for Health Statistics, 48 million American adults (20 percent) have some degree of hearing loss. Hearing Loss Advocates for America (HLAA) provides assistance and resources for people with hearing loss and their families and co-workers to learn how to adjust to living with hearing loss, and maintain your independence and thrive.
Door Advocates for Hearing Impaired (DAHI) is in the process of forming a new chapter of HLAA in the Door County community to develop a program for advocating for individuals who are hearing impaired. Come and meet other individuals with hearing issues and share stories, trials and tribulations.
Join DAHI at the Aging and Disability Resource Center, located at 916 N 14th Ave in Sturgeon Bay, at 11 am on Aug. 22 for a meeting and more information on how a chapter of HLAA could help meet your needs for improved hearing. Educational material is provided. People of all ages and all degrees of hearing loss are welcome. A hearing loop system is provided to ensure full communication access for all attendees.
