Dahl Announces Team-Up Tuesdays as Part of Kickstarter Campaign

Local songwriter Katie Dahl has announced Team-Up Tuesdays as part of her Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for her new album, Wildwood. The all-or-nothing campaign raised more than $18,000 in its first week and seeks to raise $30,000 by the closing date of Aug. 14. A link to it is available at katiedahlmusic.com.

Dahl has designated July 30, Aug. 6 and Aug. 13 as Team-Up Tuesdays, when she will donate $5 to a chosen nonprofit for every Kickstarter pledge she receives on that day: July 30 is Northern Door Children’s Center (NDCC); Aug. 6 is the Door County Land Trust; Aug. 13 is Northern Sky Theater.

“All these nonprofits are really close to my heart,” Dahl said, “and they all have clear connections to the themes of the album. NDCC, for example, really makes it possible for my husband and me to work and raise a kid in northern Door County, and raising a family is a big theme of the album. There’s also a song on the album called ‘Breathing Room,’ about keeping space in Door County free and open, just like the land trust does. And the album also features two songs from a musical I’m writing in partnership with Northern Sky Theater.”
