“Dahlias and Garden Tools” Discussed at Next Master Gardener Lecture

At the March 4 meeting of the Door Peninsula Astronomical Society, the feature program is the The Higgs Field. Professor Ray Stonecipher will explain this invisible energy field and discuss the Higgs Boson which recently has become the media darling of particle physics.

The 7 pm program will be held at the Stonecipher Astronomy Center at Crossroads at Big Creek, and is free and open to the public.

At the same time in the Collins Learning Center, Vickie Durst and Jim Baxter will present the Master Gardener lecture “Dahlias and Garden Tools.” The local speakers will have useful information for anyone interested in gardening. This program is also free and open to the public.

Weather is fickle this time of year, but if temperatures and snow conditions cooperate, Crossroads will continue their ski loan program on Thursdays from 3:30 – 4:15 pm and on Sundays from 1 – 3 pm. Loans are free, but equipment must be used on the Crossroads property and returned by 5:15 pm on Thursday and 4 pm on Sunday.

Trail use is free and open to the public. The Collins Learning Center, located at 2041 Michigan Street in Sturgeon Bay, is open 2 – 4:30 pm daily and during scheduled activities. For more information visit crossroadsatbigcreek.com.
