Andria’s Dancin’ On The Door To Host Child Dance Workshops June 17

Andria’s Dancin’ On The Door School of Dance welcomes Lucky Plush Productions to teach dance workshops on June 17. Classes for ages 9-14 will be 1-2:30 pm, and 3-4:30 pm for high school students and older. The workshop is co-sponsored by Door Kinetic Arts Festival and the Door Community Auditorium, and they’re offered at no charge to the Door County community.
Lucky Plush is a Chicago-based dance theater company led by founder and artistic director Julia Rhoads. Lucky Plush is committed to provoking and supporting an immediacy of presence – a palpable liveness – shared by performers in real-time with audiences. A unique hybrid of high-level dance and theater, Lucky Plush’s work is recognized for its layered choreography, moving content, surprising humor, and socially relevant storytelling.

Dancin’ On The Door will also host a Workshop “Playshop.” Workshop camps are for ages 3-8 and run from 1-3 pm on select Wednesday afternoons. Each playshop includes a themed dance class, choreographed routine, costume, games and activities. The first playshop is June 14, 1- 3 pm, and is themed “Hawaiian Princess Camp” designed around Disney’s Moana. Students will dress up in their Hawaiian best and learn a special dance routine to share. The workshop tuition is $40 and includes all supplies and a costume to take home.
